Using Chesswitch
Chesswitch provides chess-based game modes, including local play and online features. Online features require a compatible app version, connectivity and an eligible signed-in account. Available modes, free usage allowances and subscription offers are displayed in the app. You are responsible for your account activity and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
Use the service lawfully and fairly. Do not cheat, exploit faults, attempt unauthorized access, disrupt other players, abuse usernames or manipulate matchmaking or ratings. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse or security risks, subject to applicable law and your mandatory consumer rights.
Premium and subscription plans
The free online allowance is three human matches per week, shared across ranked games and friend duels. Premium removes this human-match limit and enables leaderboard participation once your rating is established. Monthly and annual plans provide the same access. Your accumulated rating carries over when subscription access changes. An entitlement belongs to the eligible Chesswitch account linked to the purchase and does not grant access to other players.
If ranked matchmaking cannot find another player, an automated opponent may be used. Those matches also affect your rating and do not consume the free human-match allowance. Results, ranking positions and human-opponent availability are not guaranteed.
The purchase screen shows the available plan, billing period, price and currency before you confirm. Monthly and annual plans provide the benefits shown for the selected offering. Any trial or promotional offer applies only if explicitly shown with its conditions at purchase.
Payment, automatic renewal and cancellation
Payment is charged to your Apple Account upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current subscription period ends. Apple charges renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends, for the applicable subscription period and renewal price. Apple’s notification and consent rules apply to price changes.
You can manage, change or cancel a subscription through Profile > Manage subscription in Chesswitch or through the subscriptions settings for your Apple Account. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the paid period unless Apple’s terms or applicable law provide otherwise. Deleting the app or your Chesswitch account does not cancel a subscription.
Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests under its processes and applicable law. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. Restore purchases in the app when you need to recover an eligible purchase; access remains subject to verification and the account associated with the purchase.
Availability and account deletion
Features may require maintenance and may be affected by network outages or service interruptions. We may update the app to maintain security and compatibility. Nothing in these terms excludes statutory guarantees, remedies or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.
You can delete your account through Profile > Manage account > Delete account. Active games may need to be finished or resigned from, and deletion can affect game results. The Privacy Policy explains how deletion affects data. Cancel any subscription separately through Apple.
App licence and other terms
The app licence is governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement unless a different licence is explicitly supplied through the App Store. These service terms supplement that licence; they do not replace Apple’s terms or limit mandatory rights under applicable law. Chesswitch content and software remain protected by their respective owners’ intellectual property rights.
Changes and support
We may revise these terms as the service evolves. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated when required by applicable law.
